THE VAMPIRE LESTAT extended trailer brings with it a disturbing reunion and a surprise return

AMC has released the first full trailer for season three Interview with the vampire adaptation, The vampire Lestat. The trailer debuted at New York Comic-Con before hitting the internet, and if you’re a fan of this franchise, I’m sure you’ll like what it teases.

While production on the series is still underway in Toronto, the footage gives us a preview of where things will go next.

Sam Reid returns as Lestat, who has embraced his rock star alter ego, while Jacob AndersonLouis returns to the story for what appears to be a tense reunion. The trailer also marks the return of Delainey Hayles as Claudia, which might come as a shock to fans considering her fate at the end of season two.

During the panel, Eric Bogosian (Daniel), Asad Zaman (Armand), e Jennifer Ehle (Gabriela) joined Reid and Anderson to discuss the future of their characters. Fans were also treated to the exciting reveal of this Sheila Atim she joined the cast as Akasha, the iconic vampire queen, once played by the late Aaliyah The Queen of the Damned.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reid explained how Claudia’s death will continue to haunt her character:

“Claudia will be the biggest mistake Lestat has ever made in his entire life – not the fact that she is alive, but the fact that she is dead. Claudia’s death will be the thing that will haunt him forever, and I would like him to save her.

“I’m not sure if he knew he could do it, but the fact that he saw her look at him with a pure connection at the end – and the two of them have shared a connection multiple times in their lives.

“I think he will never have that image [of Claudia dying] out of his head, and I think what it also does is it sets us up for a relationship with the infestation of Claudia and Lestat which is quite exciting.

Reid continued: “I think we have the potential to not let Claudia go, because Lestat hasn’t gotten any closure and has a lot to atone for. He’s done some really terrible things, and I think that’s a shame and a wonderful motivation for a character moving forward.”

The official synopsis teases a mixture of blood, fame and redemption as Lestat sets out to reclaim his story:

“Resentful of the superficial portrayal of the trashy bestseller ‘Interview with the Vampire,’ Vampire Lestat clarifies his story in a way only Vampire Lestat can: by starting a band and going on tour.

“Gabrielle. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those who must be preserved. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed, and others we can’t yet tell you about on a sexy pilgrimage through space, time, and trauma. No auto-tune. No trigger warnings. Everything feels amplified.”

Between Claudia’s reappearance, Lestat’s twisted fame-fueled rebirth, and Akasha’s imminent arrival, this season seems poised to sink its fangs into Anne Rice’s universe more than ever. And if that wasn’t enough, AMC also dropped a new look at the upcoming spinoff series, Talamasca: The Secret Order, hinting at even more connections in Rice’s world of immortals and mystics.

The vampire Lestat will arrive on AMC and AMC+ in 2026.
