Channing Tatum says 23 JUMP STREET probably won’t happen and he’s blaming one person for it

More than a decade has passed since then Channing Tatum AND Jonah Hill they brought their undercover cop antics to the big screen 21 Salto Strada AND 22 Salto Stradaand fans have been waiting to see if ever since 23 Road Jump would never have happened.

Unfortunately Tatum doesn’t believe that will happen and points the finger at one of the film’s producers. In a recent interview with Variety, Tatum spoke about continued interest in a third Jump away film, admitting that it’s the project fans still ask him about the most.

“I get asked more about Jump Street 3 than any other movie on the face of the planet that I’ve ever done. I don’t think that will ever happen. The problem is overhead.

“It would cost as much as the actual budget of the film, if not more, because of all the producers involved. It’s just too heavy. It falls over every time.”

According to Tatum, the issue is related to money and, in particular, a person’s salary. He went on to explain it Neal H. Moritzthe longtime manufacturer behind the Jump away film, as well as the Sonic the Hedgehog AND Fast and furious franchise, could be the reason the film didn’t move forward.

“Neal’s price for a producer fee is enormous. And to be honest, that’s what kills him.”

Tatum and Hill starred as Jenko and Schmidt in the action-comedy series, playing undercover cops who infiltrate schools to bust drug rings, first in 21 Jump Street high school environment, then inside 22 Jump Street college sequel.

The second film famously ended with a hilarious montage that poked fun at dozens of fake sequels (Medical School Jump Street, Cooking School Jump Street, and even one where Seth Rogen replaces Hill).

There was also almost a Jump away AND Men in black crossover movie, that would have been crazy! It’s a shame it didn’t happen.

The crossover was tentatively titled MIB23. Despite the landing Giacomo Bobin (The Muppets) as director at one point, MIB23 never made it past the development stage and the Jump away the franchise was blocked indefinitely.

Tatum previously addressed the Men in black X 21 Salto Strada crossover, saying, “There’s a draft that was written and it’s still the best script I’ve ever read for a third movie.”
