Disney and BBC recently announced a new Doctor Who Comic-Con spin-off series titled The war between land and sea.
This is a five-part series featuring Russell Tovey (1977) (Feud, American Horror Story: NYC) AND Gugu Mbatha Raw (Locomotive), next to the return Doctor Who the cast members Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Alessandro Devrient like Colonel Ibrahim.
In the series, “When an ancient and fearsome species emerges from the ocean, dramatically revealing itself to humanity, an international crisis is triggered. With the entire population at risk, UNIT springs into action as land and sea declare war.”
The series also features the triumphant return of the classic Sea Devils Doctor Who The Villains first appeared in 1972.
The series was created by Doctor Who showrunner and executive producer by Russell T. Davieswho wrote the spin-off with Pete McTighe (The Discovery of Witches, The Pact, Doctor Who).
Davies said: “I’m so lucky to be working with such a magnificent cast. And this is a huge, muscular, emotional drama that will shake The Whoniverse to its foundations. When the Doctor is not in town, all of humanity is in trouble.”
The project will begin shooting next month with the director Dylan Holmes Williamsdirector of the two Doctor Who Season 1 episodes: “73 Yards” and “Dot and Bubble”.
