Kevin Feige Offers Update on SPIDER-MAN 4 and X-MEN Reboot

President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige shared an update on upcoming projects Spiderman 4 and the The X-Men restart.

Fans are expecting some big announcements next week at Comic-Con, but while we wait for the big Marvel panel in Hall H, io9 caught up with Feige and asked him a few questions about these two projects.

When offering some insight into where Spiderman 4 Currently, Feige said: “Friend [Pascal] and we’re working on it. We have writers who will be delivering a draft to us relatively soon.”

So, that project is moving forward, but it’s still a long way off because the script hasn’t been finalized yet. But there’s a good chance we’ll see the movie by 2026.

As for Marvel The X-Men reboot plans, Feige shared some insight into both the planned team roster and how X-Men ’97 will inspire the tone of the film.

He said, ‘Well, it’s that phrase we use a lot at Marvel, which is ‘It’s an embarrassment of riches,’ and there’s a lot of great X-Men characters in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie.

“There are a lot of great X-Men characters in all the Fox versions of the X-Men movies. And there are a lot of great X-Men characters that never made it to the big screen.”

He continued: “So I think, as we always try to do, as we did when we did the deal with Sony for Spider-Man, you’ll probably see a mix of characters you’ve seen before and characters you’ve never seen before.”

Feige added: “I think the success of X-Men ’97 It’s been really exciting for us to see people revisit and reconnect with that world. And dare I say it, the soap opera elements of that world, that’s one of the things that we’re most excited about finally jumping into the MCU.”

I hope we get to learn more about the X-Men plans at Comic-Con, but I doubt they’ll actually talk about it. It all seems so far away. But they might reveal a release date for the X-Men movie. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Many fans think that Deadpool and Wolverine will give a glimpse of what Marvel is planning for the X-Men, and we’ll soon find out if it’s true!
