Netflix has released a red trailer for Zack Snyderthe director’s version of Rebel Moonthe sci-fi epic that turned out to be a huge disappointment. The original film was wildly popular with a lot of bad reviews, but people tuned in to watch it, so of course Netflix wants more.
The script for these projects is pretty poor and I don’t expect it to improve with the upcoming director’s cuts, titled Chapter One: Chalice of Blood AND Chapter Two: The Curse of Forgiveness.
As you will see in the trailer, these movies will be much more bloody and violent, but that does not make the story good or help the writing. The movie looks visually beautiful! But that is all these movies have to offer.
In Snyder’s directorial version, “a peaceful settlement on a moon in the far reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, and Kora, a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.
“Tasked with the task of finding trained fighters to band together to mount an impossible resistance against the Motherworld, Kora assembles a small band of warriors: outsiders, insurgents, farmers, and war orphans who share a common need for redemption and vengeance. As the shadow of an entire Realm looms over the unlikeliest of moons, a new army of heroes is formed.”
Director’s Cuts of Rebel Moon will be rated “R” as they contain “brutal and bloody violence, sexual content, nudity and crude language.”
The movie stars Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Fisherman Ray, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Author: Cary Elwes, My Friend Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Anthony Hopkins, AND Alfonso Herrera.
The two films will be released on Netflix on August 2. Will you watch them?
