Here’s a fun little clip from a VFX reel for Sam Raimi’S Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In the clip, you can see it John KrasinskiReed Richards/Mister Fantastic wears a different costume in the film, more faithful to the comics.
Krasinski has long been a fan favorite choice to play Mister Fantastic and we finally got the chance to see him in the film as a member of the Illuminati from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Then watch as he is brutally murdered by Scarlett Witch.
I have to say, after seeing him in the role, I realized that he didn’t really fit the part of Reed Richards, so I thought it was okay that they killed him off.
Reed’s role in the film was brief, but Multiverse of madness writer Michele Waldron I always thought about using the character in the film:
He said: “I always wanted Reed Richards in this thing. In my very first draft, I wrote a tag just for the hell of it, of the events of the film being recorded and reviewed by someone in the Baxter Building, and a rubber band hand tag that goes into the ‘shot to bring him back.”
Waldron added: “Reed is probably my favorite Marvel Comics character, so I’ve always tried to bring him in here somewhere.”
Regardless of how the character was used in the film, it’s interesting to see the character wearing an alternate outfit.
Check out the clip below where Reed is seen being brutally murdered.
It seems that Reed Richards’ initial costume was different in “DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS”. 👀 https://t.co/cmU7Wkqach pic.twitter.com/gYWOtPEayQ
