THE Right prequel series, Dexter: Original sincurrently in development at Paramount+ with Showtime, has cast its three protagonists. Cristiano Slate (Mr. Robot), Patrick Gibson (Shadow and bones), AND Molly Brown (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Evil) are all ready to star in the show.
Gibson will take on the role of Dexter Morgan, Slater will play adoptive father Harry Morgan and Brown will play Dexter’s sister Debra Morgan. The three roles were previously played by Michael C. Sala, Giacomo RemarAND Jennifer Carpenter.
The 10-episode prequel is set in 1991, 15 years before the events of Right. The story “follows Dexter (Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty impulses can no longer be ignored, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness.
“With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without ending up on the radar of law enforcement. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensic internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
The original showrunner and executive producer of Right, Clyde Phillips, returns to that role for the new series. Hall is also an executive producer on the series.
Michael Lehmannthe director of Heatherswill serve as director and executive producer. Robert Lloyd Lewis is a producer on the series.
Dexter’s past is interesting and very complicated and I love that it’s explored in detail in this new series. As a fan of Right, I can’t wait to watch it! It sure has a great cast!
