A new trailer for the film has been released Harold and the Purple Crayonbased on the beloved children’s book by Crocket Johnson. The film stars stars Zechariah Levi as adult Harold, who has entered the real world from his world of animated stories, and is joined by Lil Rel Howery, Beniamino Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynoldswith Alfredo Molina AND Zooey Deschanel.
The film is directed by Carlos Saldanha (The ice age: the thaw, The Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Rio, Rio2, Ferdinand) from a screenplay adapted from David Guion AND Michael Handelmann.
The synopsis reads:
Within his book, the adventurous Harold (Zachary Levi) can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. After growing up and stepping out of the pages of the book and into the physical world, Harold discovers that he has a lot to learn about real life—and that his trusty purple crayon might spark more hilarious hijinks than he thought possible. When the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it will take all the creativity of Harold and his friends to save both the real world and his.
Harold and the Purple Crayon will be released in theaters later this summer, on August 2nd. This definitely sounds like a movie my kids will enjoy. Watch the trailer below:
