WICKED will have a behind-the-scenes featurette revealing new footage and a new poster

A new behind-the-scenes featurette from the highly anticipated adaptation of the hit Broadway musical has been released, Evil. We also have a new poster to share.

The video shows us some of the scenarios and characters we haven’t seen yet, and also gives us a look at the auditions, as well as the moment each of the main stars were told they would get their roles.

The film stars Emmy, Grammy and Tony-winners Cinzia Erivo (HarrietBroadway The color purple) as Elphaba; Ariana Grande as Glinda, Michelle Yeoh in the role of Madame Morrible, Jonathan Bailey in the role of Fiyero, Ethan Slater like Boq, Marissa Bode as Elphaba’s sister Nessarose; Bowen Yang as Pfannee; Bronwyn James like ShenShen; Keala Settle as new character Miss Coddle; AND Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz.

The synopsis of the film reads: “Evilthe untold story of the witches of Oz, starring Emmy, Grammy and Tony winners Cinzia Erivo as Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood due to her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, Grammy-winning, multi-platinum artist and global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart.

The two meet as students at Shiz University in the fantastic Land of Oz and form an unlikely but profound friendship. After meeting the wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths.

Glinda’s constant desire for popularity sees her seduced by power, while Elphaba’s determination to remain true to herself and those around her will have unexpected and shocking consequences for her future. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will finally see them fulfill their destiny as Glinda the Good… and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Evil is directed by Jon M. Chu (Now you see me 2, Crazy rich Asians, In the hills), from a screenplay written by Winnie Holzmann AND Stefano Schwartz.

It is an adaptation of the stage musical by Holzman and Schwartz Evilbased on the 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West Of Gregory Maguireinspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Evil will debut in theaters this Thanksgiving, November 27, 2024. Wicked: Part Two it is therefore expected to hit theaters next year, on November 26, 2025. Check out the featurette below:
