Kate Beckinsale, Scott EastwoodAND James Cromwell are set to star in an upcoming kidnapping drama titled Stolen girlwhich will be directed by James Kent (Testament of youth, the aftermath).
Stolen girl is inspired by the true story of “an American woman named Maureen Dabbagh who spent years tracking down her daughter who had been kidnapped and taken to the Middle East by the child’s father.”
In the film, which begins in 1993 in Ohio, “Amina, Maureen’s 6-year-old daughter, is taken out of the country by her ex-husband, Karim. After years of unsuccessful attempts to find her, Maureen meets a professional international kidnapped child retriever who promises to help her find Amina in exchange for her cooperation.
“Maureen eventually manages to track down her ex-husband and Amina in Beirut, where she will face the most difficult decision of her life.”
The film will be shot in Italy and producer Andrea Iervolino said in a statement: “I am thrilled to once again shoot in Puglia, a versatile land that I love and which always manages to satisfy our needs.”
The film’s screenplay is by Rebecca Pollock and Kas Graham. There is a talented cast involved in this project and I’m sure it will end up being a fantastic film.
