While we wait for Wade Wilson and Logan to embark on an MCU adventure on the big screen Deadpool and Wolverinewill team up in a new Marvel Comics miniseries titled Deadpool and Wolverine: World War III!
The three-issue miniseries comes from Joe Kelly, Adam KubertAND Franco Martino and sees the two characters at the ends of the Earth and against each other!
In the series, “The most uneven team in comics and pop culture – the best there is and the mercenary with a mouth – undergoes a radical change as we kick off a three-part, globe-spanning saga for the ages!
“The mysterious DELTA believes in change. Change is positive. But as he sets his sights on DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE gets drawn into the plot, is the third time really the charm or the curse?
“Prepare for World War III to burst onto the scene with comics’ wildest duo of legends Joe Kelly (DEADPOOL, UNCANNY X-MEN) and Adam Kubert (WOLVERINE, UNCANNY X-MEN)!”
Kelly spoke about the series, saying, “Part of the big question in this story overall is, ‘Can people change?’ This is probably one of the fundamental questions that these kids struggle with in the story.
He explained: “Delta is an agent of change. It’s her whole reason for being. She is a character who exists to facilitate the change that people want to make within themselves, and she does so for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is to entertain others.”
“He created all the plot for this story,” he added, “but it’s always about first establishing what aspects of the character are, and what would be the most interesting exchange between Wolverine and Deadpool, and then bringing those things out and externalizing with the villains, and settings and actions to illustrate this point.
He continued: “It’s a story about the change, as in my name, not at all clever, of the character after the symbol of change. I think it’s cool and Adam certainly brings it to life spectacularly.”
