Marvel Comics has announced a wild new limited series Aliens vs. Avengerswhich will see Earth’s mightiest heroes battle the Xenomorphs!
I’m sure a comic like this will definitely excite some fans! The series will run for four issues and the creative team behind it includes Jonathan Hickman and his Secret Wars collaborator Esad Ribić, who will handle the art.
The story takes place in a future era set years after the current Marvel Universe, featuring “older and grittier” incarnations of the Avengers and other heroes.
The four-part epic is set in “a new timeline many years in the future and features older, grittier versions of Marvel characters. It will also be the first time readers will see some parts of alien lore in the Marvel Universe, such as the Engineers’ home.
“In this must-see series, the Xenomorphs reach Earth and the perfect organism encounters a planet of superhumans. But who will be the first to fall?”
Hickman spoke about the series with Entertainment Weekly, saying, “Probably one of the coolest things about the project is how we found really fun ways to ‘avenge’ the aliens and ‘alienate’ the Avengers.”
He added: “I think fans will be surprised at how elegantly some of these things fit together. It really turned out to be a chocolate and peanut butter situation.”
This is the first crossover for Aliens and Avengers and I’m sure it will be a fun read!
