AS The witcher Production on season 4 officially begins, Netflix has confirmed that the fantasy series will end with season 5.
The news came with a first-look image at the table read for the show, which sees Liam Hemsworth preparing to play Geralt of Rivia.
The photo also features Joey Batey, Freya Allan, Anya ChalotraAND Meng’er Zhang. New additions Laurence Fishburnewho will play Regis, and Danny Woodburnwho plays Zoltan, are in the photo.
The next two seasons will take place one after the other and adapt the rest of the author Andrzej Sapkowskihis books, Baptism of fire, The Tower of the SwallowAND Lady of the Lake.
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said in a statement: “It is with enormous pride that we begin filming our penultimate season The witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to the absolute limit – stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
The witcher Season 4 will pick up right after the season 3 finale. It’s unknown how the show will handle the recasting of Henry Cavill as Geralt.
The synopsis reads: “After the shocking, continent-altering events that close season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri as they navigate the war-torn continent and its many demons separated from each other.
“If they can embrace and lead the misfit groups they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding themselves.”
Season 4 will include eight episodes in total and will feature directors Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (401 and 402), Tricia Brock (403 and 404), Alex Garcia Lopez (405 and 406) e Jeremy Webb (407 and 408).
