It looks like a new video game related to The matrix film franchise may be in development. Since the movie franchise launched in 1999, we’ve seen a few video games made. The 2003 game Enter The Matrix was my favorite. That game was awesome!
According to X user @Kurakasis on social media, who has shared several accurate leaks in the past, developer NetEase Games is said to have been working on this new The Matrix game. Apparently, the project has been in the works since before the release of the last film, The Resurrections of the Matrix.
The insider goes on to say that the game was codenamed “Awake,” but also notes that they’re not sure if it’s still in development or if the game has been scrapped.
Since it’s been so long since the last movie, I’m not sure if the game is still in development. However, I would be open to playing a great new Matrix game! We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Speaking of NetEase Games, they are working on a new Matrix game before the release of the Matrix Resurrections movie. Unfortunately I don’t know if it is still in development. The project was titled “Awake”; I’m not sure if it was a code name or an official subtitle. pic.twitter.com/w1M8QFampm
