Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) has assembled an impressive cast for his next film project, Eddington. That cast includes Joaquin Phoenix (Beau is scared), Pedro Pasquale (The last of us), Emma Stone (Poor things), Luca Grimes (Yellowstone), Austin Butler (Elvis), Deirdre O’Connell (External range), Michele Ward (The best guy), AND Clifton Collins Jr. (Horse rider).
Eddington is a dark noir western comedy and speaking about it previously, the director said: “For about five years, I’ve been trying to push forward that ensemble dark western noir comedy… Even though it’s kind of – I don’t know if it you’d call it a revisionist western. It’s contemporary; one foot is in the western and the other is even more heavily in the noir genre. So it’s like a dark western comedy of film noir.”
Aster will direct the film based on his screenplay and produce. It sounds like it’s going to be a different kind of film project for him, and I’m curious to see what kind of story he’ll tell, especially with this epic cast he’s assembled for this one.
