Oscar nominated actor Owen Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Wedding crash, Loki) has signed on to star in and executive produce a yet-to-be-titled golf drama series for Apple TV+. Ford-Ferrari writer Jason Keller he is writing the series.
Wilson will play the role of Pryce Cahill, a former professional golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he’s fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife abandons him, Pryce gambles entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom.
Keller, who also wrote films including Escape plan AND Machine Gun Preacher, created, wrote and executive produced the ten-part series. It will be produced by Apple Studios and directed by Jonathan Dayton AND Valeria Faris.
Wilson is currently working on the crime thriller Lips like sugarset during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, directed by Brantley Gutierrez.
