Netflix has released the final trailer for its epic sci-fi series 3 Body problemdeveloped by the creative team behind HBO game of Thrones, David Benioff AND DB Weiss. The series is described as “an emotional story that redefines sci-fi drama with its layered mysteries and genre-bending high stakes.”
It looks like a great show that will take fans on an intriguing journey. Hopefully, the creative team will be able to stick the landing.
In the series: “A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time to a group of brilliant modern-day scientists. As the laws of nature unfold before their eyes, five former colleagues reunite to face the greatest threat in the history of mankind.
The series is the protagonist John Bradley, Jess Hong, Benedict Wong, Eiza Gonzalez, Jovan Adepo, Alex Sharp, Saamer Usmani, Liam Cunningham, Rosalind Chao, Jonathan Price, Marlo Kelly, Shimooka Sea, Ben Schnetzer AND Zine Tseng.
Ryan Johnson, Brad PittAND Rosamund Pike also serve as producers of the series. Benioff, Weiss and Alexander Woo wrote the series and serve as showrunners.
The eight-episode series is based on the book series by Cixin Liu and will cover all three books in the trilogy, which include The three-body problem, The dark forestAND End of death.
The books tell the story of what happens “when humanity discovers that it is not alone in the universe and prepares for the arrival of an alien force from a distant and inhospitable world. The title refers to the aliens’ star system, which has three stars orbiting each other in such a way that an Earth-like planet between them continues to suffer from extremes of hot and cold temperatures, repeatedly wiping out its intelligent civilizations.
The series will debut on Netflix on March 21, 2024.
