A new trailer is out Kaiju No.8, one of the most anticipated upcoming anime projects. From what I’ve read, a lot of people say this could end up being the best anime of the year. The anime is based on a beloved manga by Naoya Matsumotoand it looks really cool!
Kaiju No.8 is set in “a world plagued by the appearance of enormous kaiju intent on destroying humanity. The story follows a character named Kafka who gains the power to transform into one of these kaiju and begins fighting to protect humanity, but not everyone realizes that this mysterious new kaiju is actually on their side.
The new trailer also reveals that the series will premiere on April 13, and that the opening title song, called “Abyss,” will be performed by Yungblud. The closing song will be performed by OneRepublic and is titled “Nobody”.
This is a rare case where both the opening and closing songs of an anime will be performed by English-speaking artists, and the songs themselves will also be entirely in English.
Kaiju No.8 will be available to stream on Crunchyroll. The episodes will also premiere on X at the same time, making the show the first major anime to debut episodes on the social media platform.
The series is animated by Production IG, the studio behind projects like Ghost in the shell AND Haikyu!!.
