Josh Hartnett recently offered some additional insights on M. Night Shyamalanis the next horror thriller Trap. Shyamalan previously described the film as a “psychological thriller set at a concert.” Hartnett plays a father who gets stuck at a concert with his daughter.
While talking about taking on the project with IndieWire, Hartnett explained that working on the film was a career highlight for him due to his experience making films and his admiration for Shyamalan. He said:
“He’s a pivot, but I try to make all my roles pivot. If you play the same thing over and over again, it becomes boring for the audience. Working with M. Night was one of the best experiences of my career. I think he’s a real artist in capital sense of the word. And I think people are going to be really surprised and excited about the movie that we’re going to make. It’s very bizarre, it’s very dark, and it’s wild.”
I’m really interested to see what this movie ends up being. Speaking about it in the past, Shyamalan said: “It’s very unusual and very new to what I’ve been trying to do [recently]but I’m really excited about the story, so much so that I can’t wait to tell it to you guys.”
The film is scheduled for release on August 2, 2024
