Prince Harry and Meghan Markle develop a Netflix film, a scripted series and two unscripted shows

Prince Harry AND Meghan Markle I had a deal with Netflix for a while, but nothing really interesting came of it. The deal was signed in 2020 for five years for a whopping $100 million. Now we have an update on what they did.

Head of Content at Netflix Beautiful Bajaria recently shared, “Oh, what are they working on. They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon [Reigg]. And they actually have a lot of development, they have a movie in development, a [scripted] series they are working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows. But yeah, the movie is great.

Bajaria didn’t reveal what those projects were, but last year it acquired the film rights to the Carley Fortune film See you at the lake novel to be turned into a film. It’s safe to assume that this is the movie they’re developing.

See you at the lake tells the story of a couple who meet in their thirties and tackle themes of childhood trauma, including the loss of a parent in a car accident, mental health problems and postnatal depression. Here is the description of that book:

Fern Brookbanks has wasted too much of her adult life thinking about Will Baxter. Will may be the only person who understands what Fern is going through. But how could he trust this mirage that he wears expensive clothes and looks nothing like the young man he met so many years ago? Will is hiding something and Fern isn’t sure she wants to know what it is.

It was also previously revealed that they were also working on an animated series, Pearlcreated by Markle, but was dropped in 2022.
