Diablo Cody she recently said she’d like to make a sequel to her 2009 horror film Jennifer’s body. Now he says he might also do a prequel film or a musical and that he wants to take it with him Megan Fox AND Amanda Seyfried they return to reprise their roles. He told CB:
“I mean, I would love to bring Megan and Amanda back – that would be ideal. I want to go back to that world so badly that I’ve thought about various permutations we could do. Like, we could do a prequel; we could do a sequel; we could do a musical. I say, “Whatever anyone wants to do, I’m down. I just need to find the right partner.”
Cody previously said, “I’m not done Jennifer’s body. I just need to find… I need to collaborate with people who believe in it as much as I do and that hasn’t happened yet. I need someone who believes in it and who has a billion dollars.”
When it comes to the change in perception of Jennifer’s body15 years after its theatrical release and flop, he said:
“I mean, it got progressively happier for me. At first I was like, obviously I was excited, but I was also a little bit salty because I remember thinking, well, where was this audience when the movie came out. It was a critical and commercial failure. I was pretty humiliated to be honest with you. It was a tough experience seeing that movie come out. It was tough for me, it was tough for Megan… [then] people suddenly started talking about it as if it were a good movie, which I had always thought. At first I thought, oh where was this audience when I needed them and then I realized there were like… seven. And then some people who maybe didn’t appreciate it at the time came along and now I’m like, there’s no salt, now I’m just happy.”
If Diablo Cody had a new one Jennifer’s body film, would you be interested or excited to revisit this horror world that he introduced so many years ago?
