Patrick Warburton (The tick, rules of engagement) will star in and produce a fun-sounding film project titled The otherworldly. This is an independent film that will blend elements of science fiction, comedy and horror.
In The Unearthly, “a team of paranormal investigators livestream a ‘Halloween Special’ ghost hunt in an infamous haunted mansion, discovering that the source of evil at hand is far deadlier than they could have ever imagined.”
Warburton will play Tank McCrary, “an old-school paranormal investigator in the style of Ed Warren and Peter James, who hosted more than 20 live television specials in the 1990s before an accident ruined his career. Stubborn and selfish, he likes to do things his way. He doesn’t trust technology, he relies on his analog tape recorder, archaic EMF meter, and his own ghost-hunting intelligence. His goal is to reclaim the glory and success he enjoyed at the height of his fame.”
Sounds like a perfect project for Warburton! The film will be directed by Josh Sternfeld (Fortress: Sniper’s Eye) from a screenplay written by Michael K. Anderson, Patrizia A. Beninati, Jeff Knight AND Giovanni Grosso.
