New trailer for Charlie Kaufman’s animated film ORION AND THE DARK

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming animated film Orion and the Darkness. The film’s screenplay was written by Charlie Kaufmannthe same director behind it The eternal sun of the immaculate mind, adaptationAND Being John Malkovich. This is a very different type of film for Kaufman but it looks like a charming and fun film! The film was directed by Micros Animation (Captain Underpants: the first epic film).

Movie stars Jacob Tremblay like Orion, Paolo Walter Hauser as The Dark, along with Angela Bassetto, Colin Hanks, Natasia Demetriou, Golda Rosheuvel, Nat Faxon, Aparna Nancherla, Ike Barinholtz, Carla GuginoAND Werner Herzog as a narrator.

In the film, “Orion is a lot like your typical elementary school kid: shy, unassuming, with a secret crush. But beneath his seemingly normal exterior, Orion is a ball of adolescent anxiety, consumed by irrational fears of bees, dogs, the ocean, cell phone waves, killer clowns, and even falling off a cliff. But of all his fears, the thing he fears most is what he faces every night: the dark. So when the literal embodiment of his worst fear visits, Dark takes Orion on a roller coaster ride around the world to prove that there’s nothing to be afraid of at night. As the unlikely pair grows closer, Orion must decide whether he can learn to accept the unknown, stop letting fear control his life, and finally embrace the joy of living.”

Orion and the Darkness will stream on Netflix on February 2, 2024.
