Lionsgate recently announced that it will move forward I saw XI, and I thought the creative team behind the recent films would return to develop it, but that’s not the case at all. The authors of the last three films, Puzzle, Spiral: from the Book of SawAND I saw X I won’t go back to writing I saw XI.
Josh Stolberg AND Pete Goldfinger have confirmed that they will be handing over the reins to a new writing team. Stolberg said: “Pete and I are closing this chapter. I’m very excited to see it as a fan of the franchise. I think people will be happy with the team.”
I don’t blame them for not coming back. After I saw X has been released, good luck to the next creative team that tries to do something different, unique and good with the franchise. Lionsgate should let this franchise sit for a while and do nothing for a few years, but they’re jumping right in and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
I saw XI will be released on September 27, 2024, but it is currently unknown who will write the sequel or who will direct it.
