GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE brings another classic character to life

Another beloved character from the original ghost Buster it is confirmed that the film will return Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire. That character is Slimer, who has appeared in virtually every Ghostbusters project, so it’s no surprise that the green, snotty ghost returns!

The announcement came from the official Ghostbusters social media account with a video showcasing a movie character for the upcoming sequel featuring Slimer. It came with the caption: “Slimer is back along with a new empire of spirits waiting to be discovered. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is coming exclusively to theaters soon.”

While it’s fun to see Slimer return, the one character I would really like to see return to the franchise is Rick Moranis!

In the story, New York City finds itself frozen by an ancient artifact that unleashes an evil force! In Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all began, the iconic New York firehouse, to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who have developed a top-secret research laboratory to take ghost busting to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, the Old and Old Ghostbusters must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writer and executive producer Gil Kenan is directing the sequel, with the director and co-writer of Afterlife Jason Reitmann serving as writer and executive producer. The film is also the protagonist Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjianicomic James AcasterAND Emily Alyn Lind they joined the cast! They join returning cast members Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn WolfhardAND McKenna Grace. Plus, the original Ghostbusters are returning Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, AND Ernie Hudson.

The film is scheduled for release on March 29, 2024.
