Anna Kendrick AND JK Simmons are teaming up for the intense new geopolitical thriller series Embassya project that already promises to be one of the most exciting international television productions in development.
In EmbassyArmed mercenaries storm the American embassy in London, forcing American diplomat Layla (Kendrick) into an impossible position. He must decide whether to protect the American ambassador (Simmons) or obey his orders to extract a high-value asset trapped inside the embassy.
As a massive conspiracy begins to unravel, Layla has no choice but to trust her instincts – and the reluctant assistance of her ex-boyfriend, a British SAS agent – through a life-or-death countdown to extraction.
The series was created and written by Rom Lotan and will be directed by John Stricklandknown for his work on Bodyguard, Line of dutyAND The flight attendant. Production is scheduled to begin in February 2026, with filming taking place in both London and Cologne.
While Embassy looks like a gripping, high-tension thriller, both leads have a long list of projects ahead of them. Kendrick will star opposite Seth Rogen in the next play Childrenwhich will begin filming in Los Angeles this November. She will also appear with Adam Driver AND Daniele Kaluuya In Chris Rockthe untitled A24 film, which marks Rock’s directorial debut.
Simmons, meanwhile, continues his streak of great performances, with upcoming roles The Westies, The prince, ReykjavikAND Heart of the Beast.
The series comes from AGC Television, which will handle worldwide distribution and introduce the show to buyers at Mipcom.
