According to Variety, “Prison Break”, revived by director and screenwriter Elgin James, will be broadcast as a series on Hulu.
The project first became known when the pilot episode was ordered in December 2024. The cast includes Emily Browning as Cassidy, Drake Rodger as Tommy, Lucas Gage as Jackson, Clayton Cardenas as Michael aka “Ghost”, JR Bourne as Junior, Georgie Flores as Andrea, and Miles Bullock as Darius aka “Red”.
As previously reported, the new series will be set in the same world as the original series but will feature different characters and a new story. The official synopsis reads: “An ex-soldier-turned-corrupt officer (Browning) takes a job at one of America’s most dangerous prisons to prove how far he’s willing to go for the man he loves.”
Prison Break ran for five seasons on Fox and was a huge hit. The series was adapted into a TV movie called The Last Escape and a low-budget spin-off movie, Escape: Proof of Innocence, available only on mobile phones. The series has also been the basis for a video game, online episodes, a magazine, and a novel.
