Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the second season of its anime series inspired by Greek mythology Blood of Zeus. The story focuses on “a young hero, an ancient lineage and the war of the Gods”.
In the series, “In an ongoing war between the Olympians and the Titans, Heron, a commoner living on the outskirts of ancient Greece, becomes humanity’s best hope of surviving an army of evil demons when he discovers the secrets of his past. “
Heron is the illegitimate son of Zeus and has the power to defeat the evil that threatens to invade the Heavens and Earth. A vengeful goddess tries to kill him and the second season will continue this story.
Blood of Zeus was created by Charley Parlapanides AND Vlas Parlapanides, who also wrote the series. Parlapanides teased the future of the series in a previous interview, saying, “Someone keeps wondering why they don’t see Athena. And the idea is, listen… Actually, we do. We’d go through five seasons and see her, there are pictures about her, but it would be a five-season story. And we definitely already have a very detailed 20-page outline for season two.
The cast of the series includes Derek Phillips in the role of Heron, Jason O’Mara like Zeus/Elijah, Claudia Cristiano How it was, Elijah Toufexis like Serafino, Mamie Gummer in the role of Electra, Chris Diamantopoulos like Evios and Poseidon, Jessica Henwick like Alexia, Melina Kanakaredes in the role of Arianna, Matthew Mercer like Hermes, Adetokumboh M’Cormack as Kofi, Adam Croasdell like Apollo and Hephaestus, Danny Jacobs like king Periander and king Acrisius, Matt Lowe as Ares, Jennifer Hale as Artemis and Clotho, Fred Tatasciore like Hades, David Shaughnessy like Chiron, Dionysus and Vanessa Marshall as Ariana’s sister.
The series will return in 2024.
