Werewolf at night director Michele Gioacchino he has some ideas for a follow-up film that he’d like to explore someday. He describes these ideas as “crazy and crazy” and all he needs is Marvel’s green light to make them happen.
During an interview with Collider, Giacchino says there’s been “talk” about making a sequel Werewolf at night, but for now nothing is planned. He said:
“We always talk. But you know, until someone decides to spend a penny, nothing happens yet. So, hopefully. My wish is that yes, there was more with these characters. I’d love to, and I have ideas about what I’d like to do with them, and it’s all crazy, but I think it’s the only way to do it. So hopefully one day. Hopefully one day.”
Werewolf at night It was a really cool Marvel project! It’s one of the best and funniest things Marvel has released in years, and the fact that they didn’t jump on a follow-up project soon after its release is surprising. It’s even more surprising to learn that they still aren’t moving forward with anything!
There was a time when I would never have thought about Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige I’d start dropping the ball, but that’s exactly what’s happening right now and it disappoints me.
Last year it was reported that two more Halloween specials would be developed by Marvel, but judging by Giacchino’s comments here, that’s actually not the case.
There are plenty of monster characters to play as in the Marvel Universe! In addition to the characters introduced in Werewolf at nightthere’s The Living Mummy, Simon Garth: Zombie, Dracula, Manphibian and Hell Cow.
Hopefully, one day Giacchino will get to make another Marvel monster movie, but that obviously won’t happen anytime soon.
