A new behind-the-scenes featurette has surfaced for the upcoming horror thriller Pet Seminar: Bloodlineswhich is a prequel to Stephen King’s classic terrifying story, Cemetery for petsand tells the unspeakable of Jed Crandal.
We have a new behind-the-scenes featurette to share with you today in which the cast and crew talk about the film and the disturbing origin story it offers. This includes writer and director Lindsey Anderson Beer and producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura AND Marco Vahradianalong with the cast members Jackson White, Henry Thomas, Isabella Star LaBlancAND David Duchovny offering a viewing of the film.
The story is set in 1969, and young Jud Crandall “dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but he soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to face a dark family history that will keep him forever linked to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must battle an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding and, once discovered, has the power to destroy everything in its path.
The video explains that the film delves into the founding of the town in history, Ludlow, and the origins of the current Pet Semetary. It’s something the city has been fighting for generations. The story was inspired by a section of the book that focused on a character named Timmy Baterman, who brought his son back to life. That story was terrifying and now it comes to life in this film.
Jud’s backstory is something that interests me a lot and I love that this movie will tell his story. There are many stories to tell in Pet Sematary lore and I’m curious to see how this one turns out. Judging by the trailer, the movie seems to be good!
Pet Seminar: Bloodlines will premiere Friday, October 6 exclusively on Paramount+.
