Disney is back to work on a live-action remake of Tangled, with Scarlett Johansson playing one of the roles, Deadline writes.

According to the publication, the Avengers star is in contention for the role of Mother Gothel. Michael Gracey, known for his work on The Greatest Showman, will return to direct. The script is written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Thor: Love and Thunder).
The film itself will be based on the 2010 animated film Tangled. In the middle of it is a girl named Rapunzel with long magical hair who has spent her entire life in a tower. But her life changes dramatically when an escaped thief accidentally wanders into her “kingdom”.

Let’s remember that Disney suspended work on the project in April because of Snow White. The truth is that the film failed at the box office and was negatively received by critics and audiences.
By the way, it was previously known that “The Simpsons” would return to the cinema after 20 years. Read more here.
