Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the film Theft of money spin-off series, Berlin. The prequel, which is focused on Pedro Alonso, will give us a look at one of the previous heists in Berlin before the original series, involving a different crew. The series previews the character’s life as a master thief before he discovered his terminal illness, first revealed in the popular main series.
The show’s synopsis reads:
“The spin-off focuses on an earlier period in Berlin’s life, which is touched upon in flashbacks in the later seasons of Money Heist. Berlin says there are only two things that can turn a bad day into a good day: love and a million-dollar payday. This is what keeps him focused on his noble goals. So he is preparing one of his most extreme heists: to make away with jewels worth 44 million dollars. But first he will have to enlist the help of some expert criminals: Keila, a cybersecurity mastermind; Damián, academic and close friend from Berlin; Cameron, a loose cannon who lives life on the edge; Roi, a blacksmith and loyal helper from Berlin; and Bruce, who is fluent in gadgets and weapons.
The eight-episode heist drama comes from Theft of money creators Esther Martinez Lobato AND Alex Pina. It is written by Lobato, Pina, David OliviaAND David Berrocalwhich he directs together with Geoffrey Cowper. Joining Alonso in the prequel are Tristan Ulloa (Flour) as Berlin’s confidant, Damián; Michelle Jenner as electronics specialist Keila; Begoña Vargas (Welcome to Eden) as Cameron; Julio Peña Fernández (Through my window) as Roi; AND Joel Sanchez like Bruce.
