Trailer for Ruth Wilson’s crime thriller series THE WOMAN IN THE WALL

The BBC has released a trailer for a new upcoming crime thriller series titled The woman in the wall. The film is the protagonist Ruth Wilson as a young woman who wakes up one morning to find a dead body in her house and has no idea who it is. As you can imagine, this turn of events throws her life into complete madness and takes her on a journey that will immerse her in the revelations of her past. It looks like it’s going to be a solid and interesting series and it looks like Wilson is putting in a great performance.

The synopsis reads: “Lorna Brady is a woman from the small, fictional Irish town of Kilkinure who wakes up one morning to find a dead body in her home. Chillingly, Lorna has no idea who the dead woman is or if she might be responsible for the apparent murder. This is because she Lorna has long suffered from extreme bouts of sleepwalking since she was snatched from her life at the age of 15 and incarcerated in a convent. There, Lorna gave birth to her daughter Agnes, who was cruelly taken from her and whose fate Lorna has never known… As Detective Colman searches for a killer and Lorna searches for her daughter, their paths collide in ways that they could never have foreseen. Lorna’s search for her Agnes will take her deep into her past and into the heart of Kilkinure’s darkest secrets, as she and Colman search for the answers everyone so desperately needs.

The woman in the wall was created by Joe Murtagh (Calm with horses, bands of London), who is also the lead author. The series is also starring Daryl McCormack as Det. Colman, together with Abby Fitz, Chizzy Akudolu, Lynn Rafferty, Fiona BrowneAND Hilda Fai.

The BBC will make its debut The woman in the wall on iPlayer (in the UK) and on Paramount+ in the autumn.
