THE NUN 2 Director Teases Future Of Franchise Saying ‘The Demons Are Endless’

The nun 2 it actually looks like it will be a better horror movie than the first one and i have no doubt it will deliver great thrills and chills. I just assume this sequel won’t be the last we see of demonic villain Valak, and during a recent interview with SFX Magazine, the director Michael Chaves teases the future of the franchise, saying:

“There’s a line in the film: ‘The demons are endless.’ I like the idea that she’s always been here in different guises. I think there are still more stories of Valak the Demon Nun to tell.”

The director also confirms that this sequel “definitely has a role” in The Evocation universe. He went on to explain:

“I don’t want to give anything away, but this continues the timeline. Anyone who has seen the first Conjuring knows that Maurice is possessed and then exorcised by the Warrens, and we know this to happen in the late 1960s in the Conjuring timeline. This is set in the 1960s ’50, so we’re still a long way from that.

“The events of what goes on in the meantime start to fill that story a little more. There are other big ideas and big swings, and it’s filled with a bunch of great Easter eggs. Without revealing anything, it just keeps filling up the image and the larger canvas.”

It’s really cool and interesting! I love that they are playing with the character and filling in the backstory of this strange demon. I can’t wait for Nun’s next film and I hope the story is as good as it sounds.

The film is set in 1956 in France. “A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows sister Irene as she once again comes face to face with Valak, the demon nun.

In the story, there is a series of murders in the Vatican and the church believes that the evil nun Valak is the cause. So they call Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) to help and face the nun again. Sister Irene lives this anonymous life in a convent in Italy. That life of service turns into a nightmare when the Demon Nun, the terrifying incarnation of Valak, is now possessing Irene’s friend Maurice (Jonas Bloquet).

The director previously explained that Sister Irene “had this traumatic experience, this great adventure, and now she wants to live the life of service. Maurice went to France and works in this boarding school as a handyman. He has a friendship and flirtation with one of the teachers there, and you can see him starting to mature, so that’s where our characters begin. But we know from the first film that there is something terrible inside him, that Valak has escaped inside him, and events put Irene back on a collision course with her old friend.”

The film is also the protagonist Storm Reid (the last of us), Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia) AND Bonnie Aarons (The nun).

The nun 2 will be released in theaters on September 8th!
