Wild ending trailer for Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd’s HBO series THE IDOL

HBO has released the final trailer for its upcoming drama series about the wild music industry The idol, which tells the story of the rise of a new megalomaniacal pop star. The series is the protagonist Lily-Rose Depp AND Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. There has been some controversy surrounding this series and I have heard from people who have seen it that it is awful.

Co-created by Euphoria Creator Sam LevissonTesfaye, E Reza Fahim, “The Idol is set against the backdrop of the Los Angeles music industry.” It follows Rose Depp’s Jocelyn, a fame-hungry young woman trying to take over the entertainment industry. On her journey, she meets Tedros, “a powerful, sex-obsessed leader,” played by The Weeknd. Jocelyn’s career then takes off.

The cast also includes Susanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levi, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Rot, Rachel Sennot, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, RamseyAND Hank Azaria.

According to a report in Rolling Stone, production on this series had “gone wildly, sickeningly off the rails.” Sources say that after a change of directors with Levinson taking over for Amy Seimetz there was a “creepy” twist, creating a crazy work environment. But the claims have been refuted by cast members.

The Idol will premiere on Max on Sunday June 4th.
