UPDATED: Sony Pictures opened the first night of CinemaCon on Monday with a taped message from Will Smith and Martin Lawrence from the set of bad boys 4
Smith beamed, “How’s CinemaCon? We’re glad we’re not here because we’re here and they’re paying us to be here!”
“bad boys 4 come on, we’re excited, excited. We are in the fourth week of admission; everything is going to be spectacular,” he added before bringing Sony Motion Pictures Group president Josh Greenstein on stage.
The duo is yet to announce a title for the new film bad boys for life Filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah return behind the camera. No date has yet been set for the sequel. The franchise currently earns $840.7 million in box office from three films.

“There was a lot of uproar over the death of the exhibit that flowed into the future,” Greenstein said.
“Sony stood arm in arm with you,” he told the exhibit hall at Caesars Palace Colosseum. “Studios that lowered the windows are now realizing the value of windows and reversing course.”
“Now streamers are giving exclusive runs to their movies,” he continued, noting that Sony is releasing 23 movies this calendar year alone.
The first feature in Sony’s presentation was an opening clip from the film, directed by Craig Gillespie stupid money about the GameStop fever with Paul Dano and Seth Rogen. Gillespie took the stage with Dano.
“stupid money is the true story of how the common investor shot the script,” said the director. “A YouTuber comes from a working-class family and puts his money into GameStop stock.”
Dano added, “My character, Keith, calls himself the Roaring Kitty and starts posting YouTube videos. … The more people buy GameStop stock, the higher the price goes.
In the sequence shown in the room, Rogen, Nick Offerman and other hedge funds hear about the chaos on Wall Street after GameStop’s stock soared.
Other clips shown tonight include trailers for Legendary’s The machine And Treacherous: the door.

After Sony showed a lot Spider-Man: Via the Spider-Verse At last year’s CinemaCon, it came this year with the first 14 minutes of the film.
Co-director Kemp Powers introduced the film on stage, along with voice actors Shameik Moore, Issa Rae and Hailee Steinfeld.
“You only get one director today because we’re trying to finish this movie,” Powers said. “When I saw the first one for the first time spider versewhich I worked on Soul at Pixar.”
In the sequel, Moore told exhibitors: “More than a year after the events of the first film, Miles is still trying to figure out how to become a superhero. He discovers that it’s how you wear the mask that really makes you a hero. ; The only person who understands that is Gwen Stacy.”

Steinfeld added, “Gwen also has her own story. … She’s a character that a lot of girls find themselves in.
Rae added: “[My character is a] Spider Woman from another dimension; She takes no prisoners, she doesn’t lead a double life – it’s not for her disguise.”
In the series, Miles Morales retires to relax in his bedroom, but is soon met by Gwen. She wants to leave the house, but he is under house arrest. “Is Spider-Man grounded?” She asks. The two fly through the city, animated in the same colorful, trippy style as the first film, interspersed with raw footage that has yet to be polished before it hits theaters on June 2. They pull up and have a tender moment on a high beam.
“In every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls in love with Spider-Man, and in every other universe, it doesn’t end well.”
Next came Sony Motion Picture Group President Sanford Panitch, who introduced the anticipated Marvel film Kraven the Hunter. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who plays the title role, was not there, but on October 6 presented the first teaser, which is expected to be a winner. Read more here.
