Max recently released a trailer for the upcoming original animated series Shot on Mars. This comes from Nate Sherman AND Nick Vokey and tells the story of a graphic designer named Jeff Cooper who gets fired from his job after being transferred to Mars. The animation style feels like a cleaner, more modern take on King of the Hill and it’s not one I’m a huge fan of, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be a good series. Jeff will be voiced by Luke Wilson and other series stars include Leslie David Baker, Cory Loykasek, Stefano RootAND Cedric Yarbrough.

Jeff Cooper (Luke Wilson) has it all: a fulfilling career as a graphic designer for space start-up Mars.ly, a relationship with his future Red Planet-related girlfriend, Hannah, and… well, maybe so. But when Jeff’s bosses unceremoniously ax the role, Jeff finds himself out of a job and unable to return to Earth. Adrift in the sprawling office colony, Jeff is forced to reinvent himself as he tries to find meaning in a dangerous, alien, yet all too familiar corporate landscape. An irreverent existential animated comedy, FIRED ON MARS explores the precarious relationship between work and self… light years away from Earth.
All eight episodes of Shot on Mars are now available to stream on Max. Guest stars for the series include Pamela Adlon, Thomas Haden Church, Tim Heidecker, Frankie Quinoni, Emilia WatsonAND Sean Ala. Are you excited for this new series?
