Charles Weathers he had the fantastic opportunity not only to star in episodes of Lucasfilm The Mandalorian series but also direct some episodes. He seems to be enjoying his time in Star Wars sandbox and wants to keep playing it.

During a recent interview with HypeBeast, Weathers shared that he’d like to direct a Star Wars spinoff centered around Greef Karga. He said:
“I would love to direct a film centered around Greef Karga, covering his journey as High Magistrate of Nevarro. I love the pirate issues, the Empire, the resurgences, Moff Gideon – there’s so much good stuff in there. Those elements would be great to put in a script to see where Greef Karga ends.”
Karga was a disgraced former magistrate before leading a guild of bounty hunters on the planet Nevarro. Early in the series, Greef was portrayed as a pragmatic and shrewd businessman, willing to work with anyone who benefits. But now he’s embraced the softer side of him, particularly towards Din Djarin and Din Grogu, who he’s learned to take care of over the course of the series. Weathers went on to say that it would also be nice to see a much younger version of the character, saying:
“It would be great to see him as a young man. Immerse yourself in those formative teenage years, watching him learn both good and bad habits. See what happens as a result as we build the man we see today.”
I think that would be a cool concept to explore! I’d be interested to see his early history explored and the kind of crazy adventures he went on. Would you like Weathers to direct a Karga-focused Star Wars movie?
