James Gunn made a name for himself in the world of comics, with The suicide squad AND Pacifier besides DC, and the whole Guardians of the Galaxy franchise at Marvel. The Guardians movies are getting their final film next month and Gunn will be fully transferred to DC where he now leads the charge to create a cohesive world within the DC Universe and their film and TV projects the way Marvel has .

The first project on Gunn’s roster that he will personally write and direct is the film Superman: Legacy. While some might assume that Gunn will bring ideas and themes he learned to Marvel, the director has made it clear that this new film will have a very different feel from his previous superhero films.
He explained to Rolling Stone that while the two films come from comics, he has never considered Guardians to be a “comic book movie” but instead says it has always been “a rock opera.” He went on to say:
“I learned so much from making these films. But it’s not like Superman is going to have exactly the same vibe as a Guardians movie. It’s actually very different.
That said, does his success with Rocket make him more interested in taking a chance with the first live-action cinematic version of Superman’s pet, Krypto the Superdog? He laughs at the suggestion, but says:
“I think I would be interested in a live Krypto whether or not I had anything to do with Rocket.”
