‘The Last of Us’ Reveals Its Possible Season 2 Premiere Date According to Bella Ramsey

In a recent interview for The Jonathan Ross Show (via The Direct) Bella Ramsey has revealed a possible premiere date for season 2 of ‘The Last of Us’. And like Pedro Pascal, the young actress hints that filming will begin later this year, 2023, but although it seems soon, the new series would take a few years to arrive.

According to Bella Ramsey, the second season of ‘The Last of Us’ would come “probably late 2024, early 2025”. Which means that we will have to wait a long time to see Joel and Ellie again, and that according to Craig Mazin, showrunner of the series, the 10-year time jump in the video game may not happen in the adaptation, which is why Ramsey would have continued as Ellie.

The creative himself ensured that the second season of ‘The Last of Us would be “quite different” to the video game, almost like the first season was, but changing some key aspects of the storyline. Although there are still no official details of the story that we will see in the new chapters, it can give the idea that the worst tragedies of this universe are yet to come.

Could ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Debut in 2024?

It’s no secret at all that HBO has invested so much in ‘The Last of Us’, which has become one of its biggest and most ambitious productions. Filming for the first season took place in Canada for an entire year, culminating with its release last January, totaling 18 months of production, which is quite a long time.

Mazin and Neil Druckmann are currently considering splitting the second game’s story into multiple seasons, which could mean shorter shoots and speed up production. If so, it is possible that the second season of “The Last of Us” will arrive at the end of 2024. But the truth is that it seems like a very rushed date, so the most likely seems to be the beginning of 2025 .
