Actor Gerard Butler he has been in some big name romantic films but is best known for action films in his career such as 300, Disappearance, Greenland, Policemanand his most recent, Airplane. And perhaps the greatest successes to his credit are the films “Has Fallen”, starting in 2013 with The fall of the Godsthen London has fallen (2016), e Angel has fallen (2019). Two years ago, it was announced that Night has fallen will be the next title in the franchise slate.

These films are very popular with fans and apparently Butler has a very famous fan base. The actor revealed to Uproxx that after the release of the first film, Iron man actor Robert Downey Jr. she sent him an email telling him how much she loved the movie.

“Robert Downey Jr. wrote me the coolest email since Olympus Has Fallen. That’s the same vibe. He said to me, ‘We need more of these movies.’ These are movies from when I was in New York as a kid, and people were yelling at the screen and throwing things and saying, ‘No!’ and clapping and clapping.”

Downey must be quite happy to see that the franchise has been successful and more movies have been made. And according to Butler, his most recent film, Airplaneis cut from the same cloth as those action blockbusters, echoing the films of his childhood.

“I think that’s what this movie is. It’s a throwback, where you’re literally in the energy of the group, and everyone is terrified or cheering you on.”

Plane stars Butler as pilot Brodie Torrance, who is forced to make a risky landing on a war-torn island after a lightning strike. When her crew and passengers find themselves in a hostile situation, Torrance must team up with Louis Gaspar (Mike Colter) to help keep everyone alive. The only problem: Gaspar is actually an accused murderer who was being carried by the FBI on the flight.

Airplane will be released in theaters on January 13 in the US and January 27 in the UK.
