It’s been four years since then Michelle Yeoh’S Star Trek spin-off series Section 31 it was announced. Like many fans, I wondered if the project was realizing! Well, don’t worry, according to Paramount Streaming’s head of programming Tanya Gilesthe series is “still in development”.

The series will focus on Yeoh’s character Philippa Georgiou and expand “on the character’s current position as a member of Section 31, a shadowy intelligence agency operating within the Federation.”

The character of Yeoh was introduced Star Trek: Discovery as Captain of the USS Shenzhou and was killed at the beginning of the first season. However, the character returned as his mirror universe counterpart, Emperor Georgiou, who became involved with Section 31 of Starfleet. Section 31 is a secret intelligence and defense organization working on behalf of the United Federation of Planets.

Yeoh previously said he spoke about the show saying it would be like the Discovery universe “but different. It’s wilder. It’s Mission: Impossible meets Guardians of the Galaxy in outer space.”

It looks like it’s going to be great Star Trek series! There’s no word on when that will actually happen, but it’s nice to know that it’s still in development.
