‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’: New filming photos reveal impressive location

From there they come new aerial images showing us an impressive set under construction which reminds us, again, that Amazon has spared no expense with its streaming adaptation of JRR Tolkien’s Middle-earth. The photos, shared via reddit, reveal epic settings that seem to correspond to an elven city in the style of architecture, with a circular plaza in which a kind of chapel or gazebo can be glimpsed in the center and religious motifs.

Instantly, the images sparked speculation from ‘Lord of the Rings’ fans. The most widespread theory is that it is Eregion, a kingdom of the Noldor elves located east of Eriador, near the western gate of Khazad-dûm and below the Misty Mountains. Its capital is Ost-in-Edhil (“Elven Stronghold” in Elven), founded by the Noldor in SE 750, and located near the confluence of the rivers Glanduin and Sirannon.

Ost-in-Edhil was seen (though not named) in the Season 1 finale, where the blacksmith Celebrimbor forges the three elven rings. and Sauron (i.e. Halbrand) influences elves to create them. So it makes sense to review this location in season two, and this time in more detail, as the luxurious sets built for the occasion reveal.
