Coronation Street has already confirmed that Spider Nugent will return to the ITV soap opera this year, but some fans believe they have found a clue that will lead to one of its future stories.
Coronation Street fans think they’ve made fun of one of Spider’s future stories, after it was revealed that the Weatherfield legend would return to the soap opera.
Corrie’s bosses have already confirmed that eco-warrior Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) will return to Weatherfield 25 years after first setting foot on the cobblestones.
Now an eagle-eyed soap fan has claimed to have seen a food waste campaign poster on a recent Manchester tour, which he believes may be linked to a future storyline.
On Monday (June 19), they shared a black and white snapshot of the poster on Reddit for other fans to read, who they thought might link to one of the new Spider stories.

The supposed poster is titled with the slogan: “Reuse Trash” before reading: “Save Weatherfield from food waste.
A date at the bottom said “Released 8/5/22,” which could be a clue as to when the potential green story will hit the cobblestones of television.
The fan said: “You saw this little sign on the Coronation Street tour. Maybe a feature film from a future story?”
One fan replied: “Perhaps related to the return of Spider?”

Another agreed: “I was wondering too!”
A third simply commented, “If so, I can see it’s like Maria’s climate change story.”
Another simply added, “Is Spider returning? Yay!”
ITV’s hit soap opera has already confirmed that Spider Nugent will be returning to Weatherfield later this year.
Hancock played Emily’s eco-warrior nephew from 1997 to 2003, but is now hitting screens next month.

Spider was also known as Toyah Battersby’s one-time boyfriend, who later left Coronation Street for London, where he began a new life with his then-girlfriend.
Toyah and Spider later separated when he moved to Peru, with Toyah returning to Weatherfield in 2016.
Returning to the show, Martin said: “Having the opportunity to walk the cobblestones again is fabulous, I’m really excited to see a lot of old friends and to pick up on what Spider has done.”
Corrie also shared a teaser video of Spider’s return as they prepare for the soap opera star’s long-awaited return.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
