The Duffer Bros. warn that STRANGER THINGS season 5 will be “brutal” and “violent” and the deaths will feel “earned”

We recently received a new trailer for Stranger things Season 5, and it’s already setting the tone for what’s shaping up to be a dark, intense, and emotionally devastating final chapter.

After the release of the trailer, the makers Matt Duffer AND Ross Duffer teased just how high the stakes will be in the show’s final run through Hawkins, and it looks like fans should brace themselves for heartbreak.

The trailer wastes no time throwing us into the chaos of 1987. Hawkins has turned into a military-occupied quarantine zone, with the Upside Down now a reality.

Monsters are everywhere and the group is facing the greatest challenge they have ever faced. Mike Wheeler sums it up perfectly when he says their mission is to “find Vecna and put an end to this once and for all.”

One of the most intense moments shows Vecna facing Will Byers inside a destroyed military base. He lifts Will into the air and says the haunting line, “Will you help me…one…last…time.”

It’s a clear sign that Will’s deep connection to the Upside Down isn’t over and could be the key to stopping Vecna once and for all.

While fans are already speculating about who might not make it out alive, the Duffer brothers are keeping the details under wraps. When asked about the possibility of major deaths this season, Ross Duffer told Entertainment Weekly:

“I don’t know if we want to say it, but certainly the stakes are higher and it’s more dangerous than ever.”

Both brothers teased that season five won’t keep up the intensity. “It’s a brutal season, I will say that,” Ross explained. Matt Duffer doubled down, adding:

“Yes, it’s very brutal. It’s violent. The stakes are higher than ever. Because you’re racing to the end, there’s a lot more on the table.”

They also reassured fans that any shocking moments or deaths won’t be just show. As Matt said, they will feel “earned,” not just because of the “shock value.”

With Stranger things Season 5 which closes the Netflix series, every decision and every death will have a weight. The Duffers have promised a conclusion that feels true to the story they’ve been telling from the beginning. And if this trailer is any indication, the road to the finale will be an intense and emotional roller coaster that leaves Hawkins changed forever.

So, who makes it out of the series alive? We’ll find out soon enough, but it’s clear that the Duffer Bros. will make no concessions for this final showdown.
