At first glance, the “History of Toys” is just a moving cartoon about friendship and growing up. But a fan theory, who has become popular on the network, offers to view all of this completely differently.
Her essence: Jesse Cowboy is not only toys from the past. She was possible from Andy’s mother.
The second film of the franchise showed us a dramatic scene in which Jesse remembers his former mistress – a girl named Emily. She loses interest in the toy with age and eventually throws it away. This is one of the most sad episodes of the entire series – and, as fans believe, the key to unexpected solution.
The fact is that the name of Andy’s mother is never mentioned in the film. But the audience notices that Andy is wearing a cowboy hat, very similar to those who had Jesse earlier. And Jesse himself is part of De Western with Woody TV program, which clearly refers to the older period. All this pushes the idea: Andy’s mother could be that whole girl Emily. The toys, thrown away in his youth, returns to the family – but now he belongs to his son.
The theory explains why Jesse fits so easily into the team, and why Andy immediately accepts it as a ‘girlish’ toy, but if someone is dear and understandable.
Of course Pixar never confirmed this theory, but she was not in a hurry to refute. Most likely they will never tell us if Jesse was a toy from mother Andy. The studio is generally famous for its love for Eastern and secret relationships between films.
