Unexpected news.
After four years, the science fiction series Snowpiercer has finally come to an end. The show about the remnants of civilization who survived aboard a giant train lasted four whole seasons, which already satisfied fans of the unique setting – initially everyone was sure that the show would be closed after the first season.
The end of the last season perfectly concluded all the storylines of the series, but this happened only thanks to the bosses of the AMC channel. The first three seasons of Snowpiercer aired on TNT, but the network’s producers decided to cancel the fourth season even though filming had already been completed.
Fortunately for fans of the series, AMC bought the rights to show the final season and brought the series to a fitting conclusion.
But is Snowpiercer really over?
Thanks to a recent interview with showrunner Paul Zbyszewski, many fans of the series once again believe that Snowpiercer could still get a fifth season.
“What will happen to the real Snowpiercer train? This is a good question. Someone else has to answer it. As far as I know it’s currently parked in New Eden until someone decides to take it for a spin and see what else is going on in the world.” said Zbyszewski.
Yes, the showrunner has clearly hinted that he could tell many more stories from the Snowpiercer universe if the producers let him. Zbyszewski’s words are difficult to interpret as a clear hint at a continuation of the series, but they certainly gave fans hope that it was possible.
Kinopoisk users rated the quality of the series on 7.1 points.
