What to watch after the HBO hit.
HBO’s 2019 miniseries about the Chernobyl accident, Chernobyl, stunned viewers around the world. Craig Mazin and Johan Renck have managed to create such an astonishingly accurate and interesting project. Mazin spent nearly three years studying archival material to portray the circumstances surrounding the accident as accurately as possible.
From the very first episode, “Chernobyl” immerses the viewer in the atmosphere and plot, introduces the main characters and shows the accident, from which it is impossible to tear yourself away until the last, fifth episode ends.
Today we have collected for you 10 interesting TV series that, just like Chernobyl, will captivate you from the first episode and last no longer than two seasons.

Of course, it is difficult to find something similar to Chernobyl. Craig Mazin’s project turned out to be unique in its kind. But this does not mean that there are no series that would not grab you from the first episodes.
Mike Flanagan’s Midnight Mass is a solid horror film that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first episode to the end. The detective elements of the story only add points to this series, and with a running time of 7 episodes, the series can’t drag on, so you can watch it in one of your weekends.
If you liked the measured pace of events in “Chernobyl”, when we gradually, step by step, discover at what stages of the accident, what measures were taken, then try this year’s historical novelty “Shogun”. The series is even somewhat meditative in its pace, but very much in tune with the history and atmosphere of medieval Japan.
