“Soul Collector,” however, is far from the only example of such a radical shift in focus. Fans of the genre will immediately think of Reincarnation , which later went on to achieve status as one of the best horror films of the 21st century — and yet the final plot twist involving a dark ritual almost completely undermines the film’s original idea of motherhood and mental health.
