A clear feeling in dark times.

A film by Sviatoslav Podgaevsky offered Russians the chance to dive into the heady nineties and become nostalgic for the moments of their youth.

“Teenagers. First Love” was released only a few days ago, but has already gained a lot of fans.

The plot tells the story of two lovers – Oleg and Olga – who overcome obstacles on the way to happy love. He steals out of necessity, his military father controls it, and around him familiar songs from the past sound.

The melodrama has yet to achieve clear ratings, but has divided viewers and critics into two camps.

The former found a special charm in this story and did not regret looking at it, although they hardly expected to see anything of value.

“Incredibly pure and friendly, as if you were imbued with warmth and trust in the best. You really worry about the characters and with them you relive your first feeling,” one of the reviewers shared his impressions.

The audience loved not only the script, but also the beautiful shots, the atmospheric exterior, the hits in a new arrangement, performed by the actors themselves.

But professionals expressed a different opinion and compiled a list of disadvantages:

  • boring main character
  • tired theme of the 90s,
  • boring soundtrack of only hits
  • and a whole host of hateful clichés.

At the same time, even skeptics admitted that there is something catchy in the image.

“Stamp multiplied by postage stamp gives rise to a rough, but at the same time sincere musical bacchanal,” one of them noted.

It will become clear that everyone will have to form their own opinion about this work, but viewers are warned: before going to the cinema, you should stock up on tissues.
